That’s why she is entering a new phase as an abstract artist, in which design is crucial during the sketching process, and not necessarily limited to flat space.

This path is meant to conceive gestural paintings as whole design objects. Starting, as usual, from a minimalist base, Ferrer constructs compositions that embrace and uplift the person in front of them. Here is where beauty as apparent superficiality brings us to individuality, expression and physical presence. There is a corporal connection between the piece and the creator, which is the making. And this connection returns from the piece to the viewer when they feel clothed by it.

With references from abstract expressionism and contemporary art, the artist is looking for qualities and textures that synthesize the feeling, coming from meta-painting ideas to purely aesthetic purposes. The framing and attention to detail delve into the intimacy that has always characterized her work, and are now used as a tool for abstraction.
